Postal Requisition
If you have been investigated for a criminal offence you can be charged by the police at the police station or can be sent a postal requisition. The Postal Requisition is the same as what used to be called a summons. It formally charges you with a criminal offence and carries with it a requirement for you to attend court on a particular date and time. There are serious consequences if you do not attend, and ultimately a warrant may be issued for your arrest.
