Dangerous Driving

The definition of this offence is “driving falling far below that of a careful and competent driver”. It is for the prosecution to prove that your standard of driving was of that standard. This is far more serious than careless driving and whilst you cannot be sent to prison for careless driving, you can be sent to prison for dangerous driving. It is vital that you seek advice on this type of matter as soon as you know you are to be investigated for the offence. This offence carries up to 14 years in prison, a minimum 2 year ban and a mandatory extended re test.
