Careless Driving
The definition of this offence is “driving falling below the standard of a careful and competent driver” and includes driving without reasonable consideration for other drivers. We often see cases where a person has been charged with an offence simply on the basis that an accident has occurred. It is for the prosecution to prove that your standard of driving was of the level required to prove that you are guilty of the offence and therefore that a criminal offence has been committed
